Hate speech (2020)

«Hate Speech» is both a musical and a piece of political theatre. Set in early modern Europe and the postmodern United States, it explores the parallels between old and new forms of heresy. Tracking the personal struggle of RA Thorburn as he is persecuted both for his spoken word and as a target of iconoclasm. What results is a critique of the contemporary western political condition and a subtle suggestion for a way out of current circumstances.
